Translation

Whatever your translation needs, we have you covered. We specialize in technology, the arts and entertainment, but we are equally at home in the medical field, marketing and education. An essential part of the translator's job is research and then research some more. Rest assured that if we come across something we don’t know about, we’ll be experts by the time we finish the project.

Current languages we work with: Spanish, English, French, Italian, Portuguese, German. Our list continues to grow, so please ask us about other languages.

Transcreation

When we transcreate, we add our own creative twist to make sure an advertising campaign or a script are not only accurate, but also engaging and culturally adapted to the target audience. We love working on these projects and you’ll be happy you are working with writers, and not just translators.

Interpreting

Interpreting is not the same as translating. You may remember Nicole Kidman in The Interpreter. Well, that’s exactly what we do, minus the film set (except when we are interpreting on set, like we did for Jennifer Lopez’ World of Dance last year). We translate the spoken word. Simultaneous interpreting requires the use of microphones and a booth, and happens in real time. Consecutive interpreting is when the translator waits for the speaker to pause to address the audience. We think it’s very cool either way.

Multilingual Typesetting

Translated text does not always have the same length as the original, and this has an impact on elements which are predominantly visual: think image captions, charts and buttons. Multilingual typesetting implies the placement of text within a certain layout to read well in every language. Lists and line or paragraph breaks can also be affected by a change in language. We’ll make sure both your content and your design stay coherent across different language combinations—flow naturally in all fronts, so to speak.

Voiceover and Diction Coaching

We currently offer voiceover services in English and Spanish, for advertising, corporate videos, audiobooks, museum guides, etc. Our diction coaching services include Spanish, English and Italian, and we also offer quality assessments of pre-recorded material, voiceover creative direction, and consultancy for talent recruitment (Spanish and English). We also sing in different languages. See Paola’s singing website at www.paolacecilia.com. Our dream job involves playing a princess, but we love working on science exhibits, such as this project for Evergreen Exhibits.

Desktop Publishing (DTP)

A desktop publisher uses computer software to display content, whether in the form of images, text or a combination of both. Many of the documents available on the web or the attachments that crowd your inbox have gone through some form of DTP: from online magazines, newsletters and print ads, to scientific and medical research papers.

If your translation needs to match the original in terms of format, but your document is not “editable” (meaning that copy/paste just won’t cut it), we have what it takes to recreate the page layout, no matter how complex. No one will ever know the difference.
